Yes he is. If he stays healthy he may make Rio team
-
He didn't even make the Olympic standard
-
Good to see him run a decent race, and I hope he keeps improving, but 28:06 isn't much to be excited about. This isn't 2003. It would be nice to see him in the Peyton Jordan running 27:30.

Been waiting for some time now for him to come back and put up a respectable result. He's finally healthy it seems. Not a bad debut. -
When is his next race?

You'd think that, but hes been a miler up until recently. He probably wouldn't run much faster than that 48 minute 10 miler today. -
Didn't realize German is only 24. He just has to get the right physio working on him, eat properly, train properly, then he can leave the past behind and have a great future.
-
Yeah, and there is no 10 mile event in the Olympics. What is your point? 28:06 10k is much more difficult than that 10 mile performance. Yes, his miler background will help him in the 10k. Excellent.
-
My point is that this performance is only marginally better and he still got beaten badly by guys that have a small chance of make top three at the trials. Even German would say that he wanted sub 28 today and is somewhat disappointed.
-
Today's performance is significantly better. It is April. He is starting his season injury free. These are all very good things for him and point to a great season if he trains properly and stays injury free. He will run sub 28:00 later this season.
Personally, I think if he did everything right he could be a formidable 1500m specialist. Moving up to the 10k may work out very well for him. Depends on how he feels about the event and training for it. -
I can't believe he ran faster than 28:32.755, what are the chances
-
I am not sure he has a kick for 1500.
Still not getting it wrote:

Fernandez had a side stitch which slowed him down. Did most of his training alone in Flagstaff. He could have gone sub 28.
