As the subject title says, I am having a lot of trouble finding comfortable, lightweight, and flexible running shoes. Currently I have been wearing Reebok Realflex for the past 3 years. They've worked pretty well with a flexible sole, and flexible material throughout upper. I'd like to find a shoe that I can wear to the gym on a daily basis for weight training/plyos.
I have a wide mid-foot, flat feet, somewhat of a wide forefoot and tend to overpronate slightly. I have purchased 3 pairs of shoes in the past week but will be returning all of them. It seems most shoes, even though advertised for fit wide feet, are narrow on me. I wear size 10 in women's but lean toward men's size 8-8.5 because of my wide foot issue.
Shoes I've tried:
Nike Free 5.0's. (Purchased Men's size 8. 9's were too loose in the heel. Very tight mid-foot, comfortable cushion/sole, causes me to over-pronate a bit. Nike's tend to run very narrow with my feet. Really liked the flexibility of this shoe. Flyknits were not available locally.)
Saucony Ideals (Fit more comfortable than the Free's, doesn't make my foot look swollen/fat in shoe, smaller forefoot space, advertised as memory foam cushion, but after walking in it a few times the sole feels cheap and not as springy. Also slight over-pronation.)
Merrell Trail Gloves 3 (Purchased an 8 in men's. Super tight all around. Very excited since I read so many great things, but just didn't fit my foot well)
Saucony Grid Excursion T9 trail (The most well-fitted shoe for my foot out of the bunch. Solid cushion, some arch support so I don't over-pronate, not tight on the mid foot. However, heel of shoe rubs against my ankle, and the shoe itself is very heavy and bulky. Makes my feet look super fat! Would be ideal for hiking)
Brooks (Don't remember which versions, I tried a few in Men's sizes 8. All were very narrow on me.)
