I am wondering about the average volume per week (in h) of elite athletes across several sports.
According to my research from (scientific) texts or videos I've found the following numbers:
- distance runners: 15-20 h with 12-15 h running plus weights/plyos or other stuff
- xc skiers: 20-25 h according to an article I can't find right now, which is surprisingly low imo
- cyclists: 25-30 h with peak weeks up to 1000k /week
- swimmers: 25-30 h
Michael phelps reported 30h per week with a swimming volume up to 100k
- triathletes: 35-40 h
Jan Frodeno reported an average of close to 40 hours with an all time high of 49 ! hours (28,5k swim, 680k bike, 165k run + few hours weights)
But he is fairly known for slight exaggerations concerning volume.
So, do you guys have numbers, maybe even from non-endurance sports ? Would be really interested in some specific information
