Pacing duties
Nope. The real thing.
Surprised he's actually announcing it beforehand. It doesn't show much confidence when you don't appear in the list of accepted entries, meaning you had to specifically ask meet management not to include you.

Or maybe they added him after they already made the list of accepted entries.

Perhaps, but that doesn't show a lot of confidence either, does it?
But if you follow GF's social media, it's now obvious he's been pointing toward this for a while, since he's been up in Flagstaff longer than the other track guys, and didn't run indoors.
Word out of Flag is that he's crazy fit right now.

Shockingly, people do post legitimate information here at times.

Who is this guy? Is he from Europe?

who?
He will take it out in 58, and 1:57 then fade to a 30:12
Jerry isn't going to let him race unless he's ready.
28:32.69 seems reasonable to me
Any word on if he's aiming for an Olympic standard? Or what he'll try to do at trials?

It says nothing at all about his confidence. Maybe he wasn't planning on doing the race or maybe he was thinking about doing a different meet on the same weekend. There's are plenty of explanations that have nothing to do with confidence.
Good heavens--are you ever dumb. No way he runs faster than 28:32.72. Think man, think.
