I recently ran a 1:23 half. 2 months out from a marathon I want to use as a BQ. I need to run under 3:00. Can I do it?
Background: 25 y/o male. recently ran a 1:23 half off of about 30-35 mpw. I can probably get to 50-60 mpw for marathon training. LR I have time to run for however long I need to. Ran in college but took a year or so off and just started running somewhat for real this January.
This will be my first marathon and I don't want to leave this up to chance. I really want to be in 2:50-2:55 shape so that I have some wiggle room.
So can I do it? Any advice on how to get there quickly?
