Had the coverage on for 30 minutes now and it is all out of whack. Mikes in commentators who think they are off air. All sorts of technical difficulties

Is this what you mean by kick starting track and field in the US?
Coverage is poor, very strange technical issues with earpieces and live microphones capturing background discussion. Please find new commentaries, Ato Bolden is the only "expert" commentator. Those other two....Lord have mercy.
Clearly this is them recording for the replay later. Sucks. Races going on in the background but just out of sight. No commentary. Don't offer the live feed if it's just a weird live practice teaser.
Additionally, no one has cussed that I have heard. I wouldn't have been able to. Todd's headset apparently got turned all the way up and through a random heat all you could hear was yelping and screaming as he ripped his headset off then complained. Waiting for someone to slip...
One of them waned to go to the bathroom but said facilities are not provided. Better than reality tv
The British commentators they had for the morning session and later on in the evening session were fantastic. I hope the online feed continues to have them commentating over the disastrous crew NBC puts out there. Actually I don't know why we just can't hire them permanently to do the play-by-play for all track coverage in this country.

Thursday was some the best coverage I've ever seen. Not even a pole vault fan, but the format and the commentating made it riveting.
Friday night was the worst coverage of sports, any sports, since the '88 Olympics.
NBC says they want to help get more traction for US Track and Field so they show 6 hours of taped coverage at late night, good start. Then for all the live streaming they have British announcers who know nothing about the US athletes, continue to mispronounce Athletes names Martin-ez vs Marteenez, etc. It looks like a feed from a Paris meet, with only European athletes getting the spots. We have so many great US announcers, Dan O'Brien who comes to mind, that can talk USA track and make the audience feel like they are watching a meet in the US. It is a cracking good meet, with cracking poor announcing from a USA perspective.
