To introduce speed work and work on form, I have my freshmen do 20 x 40m striders within a medium-length run. I am not as interested in speed as I am in good form.
I had this crazy parent call my athletic director, trying to get me fired. This parent has never come to practice, and has shown zero interest in the extra curricular (or curricular, for that matter) activities of his daughter. He has never spoken to me about practice. He missed the introductory parent meeting, and has never responded to any of the weekly emails I send out. Our first interaction was him going over my head, straight to the AD, going after my job.
Come to find out, in the meantime, he has actually told his daughter to ignore my instructions to work on form, and to just "run them around 10k pace to try to limit the damage".
Is her dad just an idiot or has anyone heard of something like this for high school parenting?
