You are an idiot. BTC DID win the race, genius.
This Twitter episode just shows NOP to be gutless.
I felt like, they didn't like the tactics, especially with a pacer dropping out and thought it was shady, reacted hastily and emotionally, and then thought better of it.
What would have been really boss is if BTC just ignored it. I'm surprised they reacted like that with a rubbing your nose in it type of response. I mean, "they" essentially beat a recent college graduate and a guy coming back from a marathon right? It's a nice win for Hill, despite having to use those tactics to beat a recent college graduate and a guy coming back from a marathon.
So far Hill has beaten Rupp a few times when Rupp is doubling or dogged, but he has yet to beat Rupp in an international championship race or a diamond league race, so why not stay humble and keep at it until you are really at that level? He also has yet to approach 7:30 or 8:07.
The BTC response reminds me a bit of those one or two guys who just love to beat you in practice, and whenever you are flat they get you on the last repeats. But they are never there when it matters most. BTC has won some trials/us champs, but fail to show up at the final in comparison to NOP. The mens BTC is building a reputation of showing up big when it doesn't matter most, and I would think they'd want to keep a lower profile until they can fix that.
Seems to me Hill better deliver at worlds and the Olympics, or this just comes back looking immature. I know he didn't personally tweet it, but I'm sure he didn't ask that it get pulled.
We don't know who puts out these tweets for either group. We know that NOP felt theirs was inappropriate and pulled it, which in my opinion is the next best thing as never posting it in the first place. Not sure if Fleshman and Wright realize that taking something back, that was said in haste and/or emotionally actually can actually show some class. Putting everything out there with a "I have no regrets ever" attitude is pretty childish in my opinion.
I hope Hill has a top 3 finish at worlds, but if he doesn't he's gonna have a little egg on his face.
