you're on track for clown school
If a girl, then definitely D1 material.
I know it sounds very harsh but you'd be as well just avoiding college completely and going to work at McDonalds.
They actually do quite a bit for sport and you could maybe win the McDonald's state hamburger 5K. It's not to be laughed at: the winner gets free burgers for a year plus an automatic upgrade to large fries with every shake.
Horrible
I ran 9:55 as a soph and was runner up in a DI conference championship and just missed qualifying for xc nationals.
I have also coached a few scholarship athletes and none broke 9:20 as a soph.
I'll give an honest response. Your times are good, and if you can keep improving, and go sub-15 by senior year, you can be D1 material.

I'm sorry but I think you're confusing DI, with BCS type school. I have had scores of athletes go DI and a handful broke 15. Sub 9:30 goes DI, with money if you are flexible about exactly where you go.

Those are solid for a sophomore. If your for real, then you can prove it, by looking up the Footlocker guys, say, and check out their times, in their states, when they were sophomores. Maybe at their state meets. For example, if I remember right, Ben Saarel, in Utah won his 3A state meet as a soph. CC course of a 3 mile in 15:50's I believe. I been to Footlocker few times with a couple great seniors, as sophs they were not running your times.
Definitely on track, as long as you keep improving by 10-15 seconds per year.
Thanks for the information. Plan is to run 9:15 or faster in outdoor this season. Did no speed work during indoor season to run 9:30.
You're close to being able to walk on to a lower level D1 school right now. By senior year, if you improve at a decent rate, you can go D1. Best of luck.
You gave it a good try. Not sure you're cut out. Most Kenyans are sub 14 5k by your age. Good news is you can get an early start on Crossfit. You'd do it anyway once your college career ended at 22. Never too soon to get ripped and shredded.
I'm as senior and my PRs are 17:06 and 10:30 and i have committed to a D1 school so you are on track
Give it up, those times are awful. If you drop a minute or more you could potentially walk on a D3 team. If not, don't even bother.
IPFW is always taking runners.

IPFW is by far the best D1 school in Northeastern Indiana.
I am currently a runner at a power five conference school. I ran 10:20 and 16:45 my sophomore year. It's not about what you're doing now, it's about how you finish. Keep improving and you will be a division one runner. Don't get too caught up in times this early, just enjoy the sport.
I know I know--times don't matter in cross country. But how many sophs run 15:30? Seems pretty solid to me.
Of course, predicting progression is tricky. You might run sub 13:00 before your career is over. You might never, ever run faster than what you've already done.
