I wonder how many more athletes were using it. If this crap was just added as illegal then its not fair to the athletes that were taking it thinking its just another natural herb or supplement like Rhodiola.

Would they do the same if Rupp was caught with Meldonium? Even though he would probably be protected. Is it because she is Russian?

Yes, Nike would protect Rupp and sacrifice Maria Sharapova. Because as we all know, Galen Rupp, an obscure long distance runner with no charisma, is more valuable to Nike than Maria f***ing Sharapova.

Post of the day.

What a tiny brain you have.
Half wit, it's a heart drug for serious illness, it isn't even registered in the US so she was taking it illegally.

Why would that make it illegal? Assuming the script was written and filled in Russia, you are allowed to import a few months supply of non-scheduled drugs for personal use.
Not arguing with your lines, but...
If they catch Rupp, they catch Mo, Alberto, and so many other NOP athletes.
Therefore, adding all this, Rupp, as one of the visible faces of NOP, has to be more protected by Nike than Sharapova.

Are you insane? The entire NOP, BTC, and OTC put together is worth less to Nike's image than Sharapova is by herself.
It's not just Nike. It's Nike, TAG Heuer, Porsch, etc.http://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/tennis/2016/03/08/nike-tag-heuer-suspend-ties-sharapova/81469616/This is a good sign for me. Nike stood by lance for a long time even after the WADA report came out. I think it shows that the public tide has shifted on doping. It surprises me as she took a drug that she legally could take until December 31.

I disagree. I think running as a whole is what Nike was built on. The NOP is closely associated with Phil Knight due to his ties with Salazar. If Rupp and Farah were implicated, it would be big.
That being said, Sharapova is so much more popular maybe Im wrong. I mean our traffic went through the roof yesterday. We had more people than we do for a major marathon when the Sharapova positive was announced.
If this happened to Serena I bet they'd stand with her. Black privilege...
How does Nike reconcile their stance towards Sharapova with the fact that they re-signed convicted PED-user Gatlin?

Dude served his time, get over it. However, I don't like Gatin because it's pretty obvious he is still on PEDs and always will be.
Nike wanted out of the deal. Sharapova, while hot, has no personality. Having said that, she seems to be getting crushed for something that was legal just 3 short months ago.

Ummm, Uncle Phil loves little Galen. He treats him like his son.
I think when people heard that a major announcement was coming, many assumed it would be that she was retiring from professional tennis. Given her recent run of injuries, that seemed plausible (also given that she could continue to make money outside of tennis). I wonder if this has influenced Nike's stance (i.e. how much more tennis is she going to play anyway? Would she even come back from a suspension etc.)
I don't know what Nike could do to "protect" Maria at this point.

so she's getting crushed for something that's illegal now, is that what you just said? I don't see the problem.
drop it like it's hot

Bowerman urinated on Phil. Phil urinates on Galen. Sharapova didn't want to join so she got the boot.
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
