.. I just watched it again. Dejen slipped to 9th place. he gave up yards to Mo from 400m - 300m, then was impeded and chopped his stride a number of times in the final 300m.
He ran a poor tactical race. And that cost him the gold medal.

Kiprop and Makhloufi are different type of runners, more 800/1500 types, especially Makhloufi. Farah might be an El G type. I have no doubts that El G could have run both 26:46 and 59:22 had he added enough long fast runs (in half-mar./marathon pace) into his training. His 12:50 from Ostrava in 2003 was run in very hot weather, much warmer than for example the 10K in Beijing last year (while I witnessed none of these two races in person, curiously in both occassions I was within 400km distance from the race, so have some idea about conditions) and it certainly wasn't his limit.
Yes Gebremeskel made tactical mistake in that race but how do you know he would have beaten Mo with absolute certainty ??
Mo said he would have won that Paris race had he participated in it , of course you don't believe him but I do
Now that I admitted Gebremesekl made tactical error in that race would you admit that you HATE Mo Farah with passion ??

Tony ... Look at how far back Dejen was at the 250-300m zone. Absolute certainty? Of course. Would I bet ya a dollar? Absolutely.

Now you're being ridiculous.
I don't hate Mo. I'm suspect of how a guy goes from being someone Craig Mottram could beat to someone apparently no one can beat, and doing so at a point in their career where very very few people ever see substantial improvement at all.
I don't understand why you repeatedly equate that with "hate" .... with or with "a passion".

I honestly believe the race could've have gone either way both Dejen n Mo had shot @gold and Mo came up on the top .When Mo says if he had been in the Paris race he would've won I believe him which means he was in 12 40 shape 4 sure.

LOL so what you saying then ? Is Mo Farah doped 2 the gills or nah?
i'll run "theoreticals"
offer Asbel 3'26.00 for perfect race which isn't generous
offer him same time 1'41.00 - 1'42.00, which is not that generous either
then, for potential 5k fastest off 3'26.00 if able to run theoretical perfect 5k off 1500/800 training ( which is impossible ) ->
3'26.00 / 1'41.00 ->
2'10.18
4'44.81
7'28.66
13'12.81
28'27.82
3'26.00 / 1'42.00 ->
2'10.99
4'43.67
7'24.53
13'00.84
27'50.10
Asbel cannot be threat unless excruciatingly slow to bell which rupp won't allow
28 + minute 10,000?? Do you understand how skinny Kiprop is?
Skinny people just keep going and going, that's why elite distance runners are skinny. Kiprop is the skinniest miler there is, possibly the skinniest elite ever and skinnier than most elite 10,000 runners too. 28 pace is as much a jog for him as it is for them.

then, ...
How about if you offer him off his actual PRs? Just 'cause.

LOL no sh!t you do.

I don't know. But I think there's probably quite a gulf between "nah" and "doped to the gills", too. He may be totally clean. Or he may not. Neither of us know.

So you are saying that with those 1,500m/3,000m times, Kiprop couldn't run sub 13 for 5k?
LOL
Fair enough !
