Back in high school when I used to wrestle, I was a lot lighter and could run 6 minute miles. I was 5'9 150, with a decent sized upper body. I ran usually 2-3 miles a day along with wrestling practice back then. Now, I mainly just lift and go for the ocassionally run here and there, and usually can only run an 8 min mile on a good day. Now I'm 195, I've put on quite a bit of muscle since my wrestling days. Last summer I ran a half marathon and was running more frequently, but still then I think my fastest mile was a 730. Does body type/ weight play a factor in running performance, or would it just be that I'm not doing as much high intensity cardio as I was when I was a wrestler?
