Hi, how should I combine running and strength training? I am training for the 800m. I run 40 minutes every weekday morning and want to start strength training after my run. I currently plan on working out lower body on Monday and Thursday, and upper body on Tuesday and Friday. I want to mainly do bodyweight exercises.
This is my plan.
Lower Body and Abs:
Squats 3x 20
Jumping Squats 3x 20
Lunges 3x 20 (10 each leg)
12kg Kettlebell Deadlifts 3x 12
Calf Raises 3x 30
Ab Exercises
Upper Body
Pullups 3x 8
Chin ups 3x 8
Dips 3x 8
Pushups 3x 20
10 kg Shoulder Press 3x 12
Im worried this is too intense and I will be too tired the next day to do a good run. Please let me know your suggestions and what you would change and improve. Thanks!
