Nick Willis's comments today about him and Centro being more 5k ish runners made me think about this. The most mileage he's run is 90, Kyle Merber has said he tops out at 90, Centro at 100. I'm not sure about other elite milers, and I'm well aware each runner is different, and each coach trains their runners differently, but it makes me wonder. How much does the average 5k / 10k runner run per week? Hassan Mead, Chris Derrick, Ben True, others.

true is on strava, he has been running about a hundred a week but i think he's jumping up to a half in a couple weeks so maybe that's more than normal for him.

Pretty much anywhere from 80-120 mpw. That would cover about 99% of elites. Lagat only trains once a day and is roughly at 70 mpw. He is an exception though. Mo runs 120 regularly. Most of the Schumacher group are 100+.
