I tend to agree, but they are asking runners to spend non-fictional money to register and watch a record attempt. And certainly the 10 mile wheelchair record, if there is such a thing, is nowhere close to that. I think they've gone too far for it to be funny when they say "ha, ha, just kidding".
You don't have to enter the race to watch the record attempt. In fact, very few registered runners will actually see her cross the line.
