Valentine Invite. Previous best 4:37!!!
I posted about this on saturday and got no response. Not sure how. People went nuts when Quigley went 4:29 last year. Great performance for the sophomore.
9:53 st from last year, but an 8-second PR in the mile like this...sheesh :p
The 4:36 was from 2014 - a time that got her to NCAAs as a freshman. There's an interesting article here from her Sr year of high school.

Pretty interesting background - I'd love to hear more about her if anyone out there has info.
Wow great article. Sounds like she still has a huge upside. Seems like some of the best milers in the NCAA have been steeplers too.
Bump... Unbelievable!!!
It all appears that she jumped from 4:50 to 4:36 her freshman year, then plateaued heavily, now jumped again. Maybe she cut down on her farm chores lol.
I'm not sure I agree she plateaued. It looks like the focus outdoors was on the steeple and paid off (7th outdoors). It looks like consistent solid progression.
In the past she's had a bit of an odd running style - leans forward and a low arm carriage. I'd be curious to see if that has changed this year. I'm also interested to see what type of finish she has to win a race at the end.
That's amazing to run 9:53 at that height.
I don't think anyone from Vermont would be surprised at this, if they were paying attention to high school XC during her time.
Daniel Webster was another Vermont "farm kid" who had a great xc career off of minimal training.
Here how it goes wrote:

Even if you knew she was a talent. 4:29 is still surprising. Only 5 or 6 women have ever done that in the NCAA. I am really looking forward to watching her progress. Especially in the steeplechase this year.
She is the age of a senior. Calling her a sophomore is totally misleading
