I am a fan by default in the sense that I want an American to do well. That being said, I find it baffling that Nike would put all of their eggs in one basket with such an unlikeable dude. When you compare him to people like Meb (which Nike dumped) and other sports personalities, he must not get Nike a great return on capital, even if he is not making as much as the Lebron's of the world. Not showing up to the pre-trials press events is highly odd. Running is not like a mainstream sport where you have to speak to the press at least once a week. Does not make me want to buy Nike products.
