No yet. The IAAF is not sure the letter claiming drug use is real. Interesting.
"The name of the “illegal drug†was not revealed"
A spokesman for the IAAF said the organisation would seek to authenticate the letter. -- "The IAAF’s first action must be to verify that the letter is genuine," said spokesman Chris Turner. "In this respect, the IAAF has asked the Chinese Athletics Association to assist it in that process."
Report: Chinese 10,000 WR holder Wang Junxia admitted to Chinese doping in 1995

So way back in 1995 she admitted what she did in 1993 before getting Gold in 1996.
I don't think this is huge news.
Let me know when the records and titles are stripped.
Look at all we have on Marita Koch and she still has the 400 record. -
still to be authenticated but the claim that they wrote this letter alleging being forced to dope fits with the known fact that ma's female athletes rebelled against him, only providing greater detail. of course they were doping and we have always been sure of it (some attributed some Chinese marks to a short track, since destroyed, or to using the wrong starting line). So, there can be news that you already knew and were sure of but that was not reported yet.

We????
Have "always" been sure?
Justify your two "claims." -
So I should stop using turtle blood now?
-
No reason to stop. Take all you NOP approved supplements, and TUEs, as well for optimal performance.

You probably thought Lance was clean too... -
The main reason why people want to erase Wang's records is because it's off the charts.
Guess what? It's not.
The Chinese 3,000 and 10,000m records align pretty much perfectly with the 5,000m record (McMillan calculator) and when compared with Paula's Marathon record, they can be considered WEAK. -

This is from the 90s? The problem with that is there is a video her after the year 2000 where she says she never used drugs. Someone interviewed her because she lives in the USA now I think. But perhaps I am not recalling the video very well though. Maybe someone can find the video. -

Not true. I think the main reason people were shocked is that it came in China and was not on tv and because she ran the 2nd half of the 10,000 faster than the WR. People need to remember that the race was run in 1993. The WR for the 5000 at the time was 14:37.33. Wang's second half was 14:26.
Africa is still today (20+years later) a pretty sexist place. Back then, there was very little African competition so the women's WR should have been faster. Recently, last summer, I did start to think to myself, "A woman like Dibaba definitely could run a 29:31." So I agree that it's possible now 20 years later.
I've always thought about reaching out to Wang. You people do realize she's a University of Colorado grad, right? After she retired, she went to CU. So I assume she speaks good English and I'm always fascinated that the greatest runner to ever be a Buffalo might have been on campus and never interacted with Wetmore. Did Wetmore even know she was there? It would be so interesting to know if they ever talked. -

The fact that Dibaba could possibly run 29:31 or faster and it took an extremely doped Chineese athlete do it should say something.
Just like Dibaba is now 6 sec faster than the next non chineese/soviet union athlete over 1500. -
Rojo. I am 99% certain Wang Junxia attended Colorado State not the U of Colorado.

Can't prove the two points you made can you. Lance has nothing to do with this current claim. -

Wang stopped training after the 1996 Olympics due to injuries and worked as a business partner with a fitness equipment factory in Xuzhou, Jiangsu Province, for developing new sports products. She studied law at Liaoning University for a period of time before getting married in May 1997. She joined the National Team for intensified training seven months later in preparation for the 1998 Asian Games. She was accepted by Colorado State University in the U.S. in September 1998 for further studies. Currently she spends most of her time in participating in the promotion of national fitness campaigns. -

At the time, the 5k record was about 14:28, I believe.
The fact that several world records fell from the same training camp (and some during PRELIMS) obviously raises a lot of questions. -

You're not alone with your concerns. A lot of people have speculated that the track was short. None of these runners was able to replicate the times they ran ever again. Not even on any other track in China. -

The records were ratified. Doesn't that mean the track length was certified? Maybe the track length was corrected for certification purposes. -
Trying to deduce whether Ma's Army was doping or not based on their times and arguing about whether the track was short overlooks the most salient piece of evidence, which is that a few years later in 2000 multiple other runners from Ma's stable tested positive for EPO:
http://www.theguardian.com/wor...ney.sport1
To me, this is the simplest reason to think that Ma's earlier and untested runners were also doping, and to think that his runners kept doping until they started being tested. -
It's not unlikely at all that they were doping. But let's not forget that, as Renato Canova has said, never in history has a group of female athletes ever trained so hard. Both their mileage and intensity are and were completely unprecedented. Their training and devotion was simply on another plane from any other female runner. Canova went so far as to say that never has a male athlete ever trained that hard, not even Gerry Lindgren because everyone knows that Lindgren is full of shit. The reason I think it is very possible they doped is the same reason I don't find it difficult at all to believe the NOP might dope. Because both are and were totally committed, absolutely getting the most out of their running in every way possible, and are and were known to do some grey area stuff, why would they draw a line in the sand around doping? The past character of Junren and Salazar certainly destroys the notion that they are morally pure or dedicated to or believe in "clean sport" as Rupp constantly repeats.
