This is going to sound cheesy but their is no proper running weight. If you train right and eat as much as your body needs then you will hit your bodies race weight. Everyone is different.
Please please please don't think about your weight. Run and it will be what it will be. You improve by stretching, running, and even lifting; you don't get better by starving yourself.
Shut up and go away. Just train and eat healthy and your BMI is your BMI. I don't know why 1000 high school girls come on here every day to ask exactly how much they should weigh. It's obsessive and neurotic. Just go train.

It depends on all sorts of things. In my experience, no 15-year old runner, male or female, needs to worry about weight. If you train and eat enough, your body will find a good weight.
I weigh 173.8 lbs when i was in my best
Anything over about 120 is fine.

This is a terrible response posted by a child. To repeat the right answer, eat your veggies, workout regularly, and get plenty of rest. Your body will take care of itself..
Good luck!!
I just want to know because my mom says I'm to big for my age and stop running because of covid now I want to start again
Just run and you’ll get to whatever weight your body wants to be at. Someone your age shouldn’t worry about weight, it’s very easy to start unhealthy, dangerous habits.
Vague answer: the weight that allows you to train consistently without getting injured.
Body weight is just one measurement that is honestly useless out of context. For example, if you were to gain 3 or 4lbs of muscle would you see this as detrimental to your running performance? The additional muscle (especially added to the legs) is arguably going to aid your performance.
Dropping weight is a short term fix, you probably would knock out some PBs for the first 6 months but your risk for injury will increase because your body won't have the calories and nutrients available to recover fully.
my personal experience when i didn't eat well as a distance runner i got sick. the answer to your question is probably eat more -- fuel the machine -- not less. when i ran XC and was healthy i ate like a horse.
Is your BMI under 25? If so, you can weight up to 250lbs and still be at your ideal racing weight.

Just think, a post from seven years ago, maybe could have been from Parker Valby, at the time.

I'll add... not only that but it's bad for them...
Just run! have healthy discussions about food and your body with family, coaches, friends, dIetitian or someone you trust, not the Let’s Run medical professionals!
