Don't know about the odds, but some years ago, during a heavy snowfall, I shoveled the drive and sidewalk. In the meantime, the heavy snowfall resumed, so I shoveled the drive and sidewalk again. Then, in a moment of wanting the full experience of nature, I decided on a short run in the woods, over a usual loop, in the virgin, more than knee deep snow.Although I didn't slip and fall in the snow and ice, I suspect these events were key contributing elements to a knee injury.

Running in snow and ice increases the odds of injury.
