30 years old. 147 lbs. 5'9' I have been running for around 3 years.
I never ran in College but I have being athletic all my life. I was a varsity soccer player.
I Ran a marathon on December in 2:42. I cross the half marathon mark in 1:18.42. I was averaging 60 miles a week. I ran 80 miles in my peak week and then came down gradually to 60 miles. Before starting my training I was a 50 miles week runner. I never ran more than that as I was prone to shin splints.
After my marathon I did not interrupt my training, I kept having easy runs and kept my mileage constant. I just came back from 3 weeks of altitude training in Mexico at 7,000 ft over the sea level. Before getting ready for my marathon I was at 153 lbs. I reach that weight because I start taking running seriously I stop drinking and going out late. I was
Last time I asked for help for a realistic goal time for my marathon in December 6th I got told that 2:53 was a realistic goal. In a perfect day 2:50. My original goal was 2:48 and I ended up running 2:42.
My last workouts before the marathon were:
Race week
8 x 400 (77, 75, 74, 72, 73, 72, 73, 73) 60 secs rest between each repeat
Week before race week
7 x 800 (2:46, 2:42, 2:40, 2:42, 2:50, 2:48, 2:45) 60 secs rest between each repeat
Two weeks before race week
6 x mile (6:03, 5:57, 5:49, 5:52, 6:03, 5:53) 60 secs rest between each repeat
Nowadays I weight 147lbs I ran an average of 70 miles a week. I don't drink or go out late anymore. I just came back from altitude my last workout in the track was:
7 x mile (5:52, 5:49, 5:52, 5:53, 6:02, 6:03, 6:03) 60 secs rest between each repeat
I have a half marathon in March 20th my question is do I have a chance to go under 1:12?
