If your race is in the morning, I find it best to drink a lot of water the night before the race. Then, in the morning, sip on fluids all the way up to your race and try to go to the bathroom as much as possible. Don't chug a lot of fluids in the 30 minutes leading up to your race.
I typically drink up until 2 hours before i have to be on the starting line. This way any fluids that want to come out have the chance to, but i won't be dehydrated. But whatever you try to do, use it a few times in practice first just so you can get the timing down. Good luck.
