That is totally wrong. Heat increases inflammation, increases pain, brings blood to the surface and prolongs the injuries.
Cold does the opposite, drives the blood deep in the tissues for healing, decreases inflammation, decreases pain, and helps injuries to heal quickly.

A runner friend of mine told me to rice it.
I went to the grocery, picked up a bag of rice, and have submersed my ankle in it. But it's not getting better.
Is this a real thing or is he pulling my chain???
Dude I've got the same thing; or I did. If you do a bunch of single leg heel raises (3x30 five times a day) and Ice it, it helps a lot
