Hi,
I am a 17 year old runner who has been sidelined with a weird injury to the left knee and haven't ran since mid-November because of it. I just want to know how long does it generally takes to lose base? I most likely won't be able to run for another few weeks :( However, I did run over 600 miles this summer, more than I have ever ran in my life in one offseason. How much base would I have left by the time February rolls around? I'm a little afraid that I won't be able to achieve my goal of a sub-10:00 3200m for track without a base this winter, but I guess that I've got to believe in myself.
My only crosstraining options are a mountain bicycle and a jump rope. Any ideas on what kind of workouts I should do if I have aspirations to break 10:00 for the 3200m?
