He stated (the head coach) "if you spit on the track again, you won't be allowed back" and then when we didn't acknowledge him he stated it again, and I replied, we got it dude.
Should i be as pissed about this as I am?

Chances are it was a mondo track. Roughly 700k. Very tough to clean in the groves. Shitty d2 coach here...i would boot you right after you gave me tude.
Good for him. There's a guy who spits on the indoor track I go to and everyone is grossed out. There are trash cans and drinking fountains and wipe dispensers all around if someone can't control their spit. People sit and stretch on the track and it's just disgusting anyway.

starting a thread about spitting on an indoor track only reinforces my belief that there are many more horses a$$es than there are horses.
As an aside, unless you're racing, and even then it's not always forgivable, you should try to spit/nerf on the infield.

A long time ago I used to spit on the track and thought nothing of it, but don't any more because it's gross. People often sit on the track to change shoes, and people could be running barefoot and step in it, plus even just running you can see where it is, and personally I'd make a detour around it.
There are other more suitable alternatives.
If I was that coach, I would have kicked your sorry ass immediately and banned you for life. You got off easy, idiot.
