Great post. There seems to be one standard for Rupp and completely different standards for everyone else. Get over it.

Rupp fans make up special exceptions for him because he is the great white distance hope. They wouldn't hear of revised Rupp's AR upwards to account to adjusted conditions (started later when it was cooler at Salazar's request), and significant drafting. His AR can likely be adjusted upwards to 27:08.
I have notice a lot of people use the THI and windchill factor in ways like "the temperature was over 90 (or below freezing) today".

Probably because it makes a difference. Winters where I live average around -25 degrees Celsius for the coldest months of the year. -25 and calm is one thing, but -25 with wind (-40 with the windchill) is another beast. People lose heat faster with wind and will succumb to the cold faster as well.

he coulda run 26:26 in better conditions.
With a wabbit and if he hadn't been jogging a couple of those laps in there, it would have been worth 26:19, and 26:08 in perfect weather.
Don't you mean 26'19 and 26'08?
What would be more delusional:
Rupp aiming to beat Mo?
Centro aiming to beat Kiprop?
Rupp is considering the marathon for this reason.

Anyone know the temp for the 10,000 in Beijing?
http://olympics.nbcsports.com/2015/12/14/galen-rupp-marathon-trials-olympics-2016/“I was really disappointed to finish fifth,†Rupp said last month of his 27:08.91 time in Beijing on Aug. 22. “If that had been six years ago, I would’ve broken the American record in 90-degree heat, basically. So I ran really, really solidly, I thought, but sometimes you can’t control what place you get.â€
That was a tough race, several guys in that race completely folded. It was hot as heck, but I don't recall it being 90, perhaps the the h/h index was 90. I race was certainly not a bad performance.
I remember watching the race and my first thought was to be disappointed with the result. Rupp has run amazing races before and because of that we expect more of him just like he expects of himself. After looking at the results I realized that the top 5 guys in that race ran amazing for 80 weather. 80 is pretty hot weather for a 10k and when you look at how big the gap was from 5th to 6th you can see how impressive the top 5 ran. I see nothing wrong with rupp reminding himself that even though he did not meet the standard he wanted in terms of his placing, that he still ran a really good time for those conditions. You can argue that in ideal weather this race would have been another 15-25 seconds faster for the guys who didn't completely blow up in the hot conditions.
Temperatures are normally measured in the shade. Out on the track it's a bit hotter than that.
Most important though, Rupp dropped all three ethiopians before 9K, no white dude has ever done that in modern times.

Rupp haters discount all of his accomplishments. Maybe someone could go back and watch Rupp's and Solinky's AR races and see who actually drafted the most, do some calculations, and then tell us all who is the AR holder, as well as the time.

The worst crime that you can commit against the basement dwelling mouthbreathers here is to be successful and not look blue collar doing it. It you're not running on pure hate in Rexing's trainers, then everything you do is suspect

Dude is losing brain cells by the hour , what a weirdo
Rupp and Farah are too thin to qualify as skinny.

That's not most important. It's not even really accurate. Rupp didn't drop "the Ethiopians". Ethiopia hasn't had decent 10k runners since ~2008.

Aside from the Bekele brothers, world champion Ibrahim Jeilan, Dejen Gebremeskel, Imane Merga, maybe
I never get tired of watching the last lap of Rupp's silver medal 10k. He beat a lot of fast runners. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=9-gOCOu_KGU
LOL, look at the caption for that video. Good job. It's not the 5000m.
How do they get the caption? wrote:

Actually, that caption is for the next video, which is Hard to tell.
It's one of youtube's new features. Click it and it takes you to the suggested video; the 5k 2012 Olympic final.
