Teams often name their running routes based on the characteristics of the route, a funny back story, or something along those lines. Let's name and explain some of our favorite running routes and then reveal the location. If you'd rather leave the location a riddle, perhaps someone else will be able to determine the place based on your clues.
"Power Lines"--A run that, you guessed it, follows the power lines. Coach Quote: "No one is allowed to run power lines anymore because Gary slid off a cliff and is now in the hospital."
"Chump Loop"--A 5ish mile loop used the day before a race or whenever someone needed an easy "chump" day. Used in the vernacular: "Mike ran chump loop again yesterday. Freakin pathetic."
"B-Loop"--The B stands for b!tch as this ascends/descends several extreme inclines.
"Jack's Valley"--One of several "valley" runs in the area, this one in particular circuiting the basic military field training area. No one's quite sure who Jack is.
"Ridgeline"--Often combined with "Golf Course" and/or "Railroad" and the in my opinion the best route on campus.
Location: These and many more are all located at the USAF Academy.
Ok, I'm sure you've got some routes more creatively named than these, so let's hear em...
