Well, the P12 lost quite a few out of conference games to Power 5 teams and Notre Dame. So I am pretty sure where they stand. The B12 did really mix it up out of conference so I guess it's tough to say. Although, conference elite Oklahoma barely beat Tennessee. Their one loss came to Texas, who looked pathetic out of conference. B10, maybe. Iowa and Ohio State didn't play any challenging out of conference games though. Michigan lost to Utah. Wisconsin lost to Alabama. MSU and Northwestern had good wins. So it's 50/50.
Seems to me like no conference is much above the others.
The Pac-12 has the best record against notable opponents this year at 6-5 (4-4 vs. P5, 1-1 vs. Notre Dame, 1-0 vs. BYU)
The SEC 8-7 is next at (6-4 vs. P5, 1-0 vs. BYU, 0-1 vs. Houston, 1-1 vs. Western Kentucky, 0-1 vs. Memphis)
B1G is 11-11 (9-8 vs. P5, 1-1 vs. BYU, 0-1 vs. Temple, 0-1 vs. Western Kentucky)
B12 is 4-5 (4-3 vs. P5, 0-1 vs. Notre Dame, 0-1 vs. Memphis)
With the ACC lagging behind at 7-15 (6-9 vs. P5, 1-5 vs. Notre Dame, 0-1 vs. Houston).
It's notable that most of the SEC's OOC games were against the ACC, which looks to be the worst of the five conferences (though not necessarily at the top, where Clemson is undefeated and Florida State had their way with SEC East champ Florida tonight).
Note: the "notable opponents" included P5 teams and teams currently ranked in the Top 25, though I switched in BYU and Memphis for Toledo (because Toledo's loss today should knock them out, while BYU and Memphis are the best non-P5 teams left unranked).
