hello
I am a high school senior 800m runner. more specifically, a 400/800 runner. my goal is to break 2 minutes. junior year,i ran a 2:02 800 and 53 400 last season. it was actually my first year of 400s. I also did xc to help build a better base. weird enough, junior year, i was only able to run 18:27 for 3 miles. this fall, i ran 17:19. i started running this week after a few weeks off. my coach told me 20-30 mins every other day. i asked if i can bump up my mileage to 30 miles since my endurance is much stronger. he said it was fine. but i plan on building into that to avoid injuries. last year, i was running 20-25 miles a week. i also started weightlifting to build explosive power. this was one thing i never did junior year. i ask, is there anything else i can do? mileage or workouts? I need all the suggestions possible. It's my senior year so i want to go out in a bang.
