Dear LetsRun,
So as our cross country season is coming to and end and track preseason will begin promptly, our coach is encouraging us varsity runners who have been using our XC flats (spikeless) for Track, to get Track Spikes. I have been doing research on spikes and I think I have narrowed it down to two. As I stated, I am inbetween the MD4's and the MD800v3's, but still am open to suggestions. A little backround on myself, I run the 800 and 1600; my 800 PR is 1:52:04 and my 1600 PR is 4:12:56. During the 800, which is my favored event, I like to stay on my forefoot/midfoot for the first lap and really start to get on to my toes on the second lap. I employ the same strategy with my 1600, staying relaxed the first half, and picking up the pace for the second half. My XC flats are Nike Victory XC 3's which I would say are pretty nuetral, but for track I would perfer something a little more agressive for the 800, but not agressive to the point where my calves will start to feel it in the 1600. I'm torn between these two and would really appreciate an additional opinion(I am also open to other suggestions).
Thanks,
Eric
