Nick Hartle is the only non-californian in UCLA's top 7 right now. Whereas no one in Stanford's full strength top 7 is from California. Oregon has some in state guys in Neuman, Maton and Melancon. But Colorado has surprisingly few natives. Only Winter of their top 7 is from Colorado.
Well Washington beat UCLA and they have 5 of 7 from in state (with Huxam and Stevens from Redwood CA)
Why would a school like Stanford have all CA athletes? It's not a state school.
Syracuse, also not a state school, has always had a ton of NYers on it's roster.
Looks like Syracuse has 4 of their top 7 in state and same goes for Michigan. BYU only has two (somewhat surprising).
Only one of Syracuse's top 3 is in state, so I'd kind of rule them out. Wisco's only 3 are at the back end of their top 7 and UVA only has 2. It'd probably come down to Washington and UCLA.

Last year, Michigan State won NCAA with six of their top seven from Michigan. UM had their entire top seven from Michigan until injuries hit late in the season. At one point, they were ranked 1-2, with 13 out of 14 in their top sevens from in state. That shows the incredible depth from Michigan high school girls in recent years.

Last year Cuse's top 4 at nationals were from NY.
If you don't have 5 from in state, you can't score. UGAs whole squad is from Georgia.
I think UTEP has the best in-state representation. Lot of Texas natives that are very proud to wear their El Paso uniform

I would say women's xc is pretty good right now. Shame Kate Avery left though.

Well they still placed 5th w/o Knight running well and they had plenty of other New Yorkers on their roster. Name another team that would have done as well with all in state athletes last year.

Accurate history is that in 1982 Wisconsin won with that in-state talent, The 1985 team had three non-Wisconsin runners in the top 7 but the first 4 were all in-state.
You won't likely see anything like that again.
Did Arkansas ever have one runner from Arkansas in their top 7 on all those championship teams?
Did Colorado, Stanford, or Oregon ever have more than two in-state recruits on their championship teams?
