I've been throwing around an idea for a training session that my team and I could do once every few weeks this winter. It would involve staying up very late, probably 2:00am or so. It would consist of something like two or three interval workouts with a moderate run in between, possibly with some strength training thrown in as well. This would start after school on a Friday and continue into the next morning.
My idea is that this would get us used to pushing ourselves despite feeling extremely fatigued, such as after running multiple races at a track meet. Personally I have always had trouble with my second event in one day, and a session like this might get me used to running through that tired feeling you get after a hard effort. Is this a good idea or just some crazy sh1t?
