Oh well, I guess we won't be hearing much about her in the next 4 years.
+1 , but she can get a good education ;)
I bet they are going to let her do triathlon in the spring. Seems like a smart move for her.

Lead recruiter was an Iowan.
Jenks will NOT be doing triathlon. She has made that perfectly clear.
She can become an even stronger runner by focusing on it in college, which is what is winning at the international level of triathlon but why she not race tri's over the summer? Plus, at Cal she could spend some time swimming under McKeever.

You mean co-recruiter. In my experience, their associate recruiting coordinator/assistant distance coach does much of the all-around distance heavy lifting. Good for them both - sounds like they have a good team approach going on. Stephanie will do well there...and she will not compete in tri's over the summer because she's a runner now...she will need to recover from track season and prepare for XC season - or so I've been told. Best of luck to them all!
Isn't it illegal for a recruiter to comment on a prospect's signing if it isn't official yet? Even if it doesn't name names?!
would any good runner go to such a terrible program.

Undergrad is undergrad
When are we going to get some worthwhile coaching :(
Back when I committed to my school, it was a simple conversation with my parents followed by a phone call the next day. Now it's gotta be all over Twitter.

I never understand the undergrad is undergrad routine.
Think of this in terms of strength of running teams: is there a difference between Oregon and Murray State? Of course. So why is it so hard to also assume that there is a difference academically as well?
She'll make a good training partner for knights, and a formidable top 2 for the program.
The Olympics Four schools get an huge amount of publicity being in the Bay Area and So Cal. She is tough and can deal with that.

Your running team analogy is wrong.
The difference between Oregon and Murray State is their incoming speed out of highschool. The comparable factor in undergrad would be something like the incoming test scores of the students out of high school.
The correct analogy to my statement might be something like the training or the events available to compete in. Both of which are similar or the same at every school. Most of success in running team competitions has to do with recruiting and maybe luck.

The engineering and sciences at Berkeley are better than 99% of other programs.
Based on what? Quality of science and engineering are two subjects that are least likely to be dependent on where you go to school.
Not true. Comparing the curriculum of say, Computer Science at Berkeley (EECS) vs. a Cal State or even a lower UC like UCI is massive. The rigorousness of these programs at Berkeley (which is more competitive than most of the Ivy Leagues due to lack of grade inflation) is huge when compared to most other schools.

It's probably more accurate to say that the UCB program is more competitive internally because of the number of students competing for limited attention. The program itself is no more rigorous than many other schools.
Am I living in the twilight zone? The Boston Marathon weather was terrible!
Is there a rule against attaching a helium balloon to yourself while running a road race?
How rare is it to run a sub 5 minute mile AND bench press 225?
Move over Mark Coogan, Rojo and John Kellogg share their 3 favorite mile workouts
Matt Choi was drinking beer halfway through the Boston Marathon
Mark Coogan says that if you could only do 3 workouts as a 1500m runner you should do these
