If it doesn't hurt your form, no it isn't.
But it's just like jogging for him. It might not even exceed 65% of his MHR on the run. I wonder if the aerobic benefit is minimal.

6:05-6:10/ mile. 70% of MP
3:50 per km is not too slow at all for a person with his ability, look at Canova's training in the past, this makes sense:
Canova regularly states that "moderate" running is 68-78% of current marathon PR (assume 2:09 pace), so 6:10 pace is about 75% (the way Canova calculates it).
If you look at Moses Mosop's training he does somewhere between 20-50% (wide range, I know) of his training at these moderate paces, does a fair amount easy, and then 2-3 long workouts a week.

According to JD, you should run at 65%-75% of your MHR for your easy mileage, which is actually well above 70% (or even 75%) of marathon pace for me. But after a glance at Arne's log, I start to rethink the whole thing.
But maybe there is a difference between elites and mortals.
