I wore out my first pair of wave riders, and decided to try out the ghost 7. I hated the ghost 7 so much that I gave them away w/ maybe 15 miles on them and went and bought a new pair of wave riders.
Key differences - wave riders are actually neutral, ghosts say they're neutral but actually push your foot sideways to the outside and inhibit natural rolling motion (you end up pushing off from pinky toe instead of ball of foot in ghosts). Also ghost is a lot squishier, while the wave rider feels firmer at contact and does cushioning lower in sole.
Too lazy to actually check the weight of each shoe, but the ghosts definitely feel heavier, but that might just be from how squishy they are and all the lateral forces made it feel like more work with each step.
