What the heck ever happened to this once great program?
What the heck ever happened to this once great program?
Too many Mary's and not enough William's
Not enough low sticks is my guess.
Food poisoning.

Well played.
Coaching change
Penn State was right there with them. Both W&M and Penn State were once coached by Harry Groves. Ahem.....
nothing to do with the PSU Alum who heads WMU...
Didn't the McGowan Twins transfer to Penn State?
Neither of them in the top 7 for the team?

He ain't no Harry Groves.
FWIW. It's not WMU, it's the College of William and Mary.

Walsh is terrible. Can't be bothered to care what they want to call themselves. It's like Ohio State people. The, whatever.
Ever since their coaching change from Gibby to Walsh a few years back they've been on the decline

No it's not the same.
No idea whether or not Walsh is a good or bad coach. He did OK at Providence College.

Walsh only coached the JV team while at Providence. WM is his first head coaching job.
From what I've heard, they run way too hard, too often, too early. Sad. Maybe their best races are at practice.
Wouldn't send them my kids wrote:

Sounds like the curent PSU regime.
Isn't Chris Solinsky a coach there now?

Actually, it kinda is. A quarter of W&M students are graduate students. One quarter. Statistically, they're university. They're a college in name only, and haven't been in over a century.
They can call themselves whatever they want, but they're a university. Just like there are other state schools in Ohio.

Help me understand this, pongo. Or whatever you call yourself.
You equate not having to say ''The'' Ohio State with being able to call it William and Mary University? That's a terrifying amount of confidence in the face of being woefully wrong.
When you leave out the ''The'' in Ohio State, it tells people 'Oh, he's not from the state of Ohio.' When you call it WMU, it tells people 'He doesn't know the name of that school and he called it the wrong thing.' It's a factual error.
It's like the difference between choosing to say LRC instead of Letsrun and calling it LetsTrack instead of Letsrun.
You made a mistake. It's okay. You only made it worse by trying to get out of it.
Not sure where you got this notion from, but that is not the case. Maybe they should promote Solinsky from Asst. to Head Coach and see if that helps at all. Can't imagine he gets final say, but I would let the guy with experience of success lead the charge at this point. How much worse could he be than where they are now? Let him prove his coaching chops....
