Can anyone help me out in finding a Nike shoe, pereferably a trainer but if you know a flat too thats alright, that is most similar to the New Balance 900?

Streak II (current model)
Streak (previous model)
i would agree with the guy above and say the air streak 1s or 2s, which are pretty cheap on eastbay right now. if you can, take out the plastic crap on the outsole.
zoom elite.
id say negative on the zoom elite. the heel is way too high compared to the 900s. i used to run in the elites back in my moon boot days but the elevated heel height caused me to overpronate.
would the miler's be better for a training shoe? I need some training shoe ideas now
or the swift vapors
?
Zoom Elite, yep. Heel is not as high as some reports. Another one to take a look at is the Perseus.
Those won't give you the medial support that the NB900 does.
the miler
OK then. I can say that they were both made as an alternative to the DS trainer so all three of those are basically the same shoes. The way you guys split hairs when talking about shoes amazes me.
How bout the Nike Triax TC. GREAT shoe. Anyone know of any stored up holdovers of them? I would be willing to order a back up supply of them.
The Zoom Elites' heel was high enough to put me out of commission with MTSS for 3 months. They also caused major achilles tightness and pain. The shoe sucks.
I'm on my sixth pair of zoom elites and no problems @ 100 mpw. I used to do New Balance, but haven't found any to my liking lately. Everyone is different, but the zoom elite suits me quite well, you bitch.
Actually, to the extent that they suck it's because they don't last very long. Mine start feeling dead after 300 miles.
try the racer st. it's dreamy.....
what new balance shoes did you try? correct me if im wrong but isnt the heel on the elites 24mm? thats much higher than the ds and the 900s, not to mention the elites are very stiff shoes.
The zoom elites have a heel of about 1 1/2 which is around 44mm the forefoot is about and 1 inch which is about 25mm.
The closest Nike shoe to the NB 900 is the Zoom Elite. The Perseus is a bit too heavy and not as flexible or cushioned as the Elite.
Some other alternatives are the Asics DS Trainer, the adidas CC Rotterdam, the Mizuno Wave Maverick, and the Brooks Axiom.
