I ran 4 years in high school. XC and Outdoor Track. My school did not have indoor track so I swam in the winter. I wouldn't run from mid-November to late February, so around 3-4 months of not running. Now I am running in college and I will be running XC, Indoor, and Outdoor. Of course, you could say that I swam which kept me in some sort of shape in the winter, but I didn't put a whole lot of effort into swimming and swimming shape is nothing compared to running shape. So essentially I was starting over in February. Anyway, I just wanted to know how much I might be able to improve with year round running. Any personal experiences, or stories where someone got way better from running year round?
