I am looking to run my first marathon this spring and was trying to get a grasp on training for it. I am a low 14:30s 5k runner and am probably more slow twitch than fast twitch, so the longer distances are more of my thing.
While we are at it, I am from lower Michigan/upper Indiana and am looking for a fast marathon course in early to mid April. I'm still in college, NAIA level, and my school's travel budget is low. So it would be nice to find a course close by.
Any sort of advice would be greatly appreciated. I ran my 5k PR off of 85 miles a week this past track season and now I'm doing 100 a week for the 8k. Any other information can be provided if needed. Just want to start thinking of ideas. I'm running a half marathon right after XC season so that will give me a good basis to see if sub 2:20 is accomplishable.
