How to Sit and Kick. A comprehensive guide

I have tried this, but the fastest runner always kicks early, usually on the first lap. I can't kick for 12 laps like they can.

I have a better strategy.

Find out the PR of the faster runner in the race, then run 1 second a lap faster than they do. In a 5k race, you will be ahead of them by 11.5 seconds to start the last lap and they won't be able to kick to catch you.

In a Mile race you might need to run 2-3 seconds a lap faster than them, but you only need to do it for 4 laps so that should be easy.
