I guess we'll find out when the Fall semester starts on October 19.

Portland started August 31.

your guess is wrong.
no fall semester starts october 19 and anyway how would that help us know what cain is doing?
sounds to me that the sports psychologist has advised her to stay on the down low and stop telling so much about herself.

Based on school already starting and she is at home it looks like she is isn't at Portland this fall.. With her career there is nothing wrong with taking a year off or taking online classes. Why she isn't with Salazar is weird, but with two years of struggling to improve (actually getting worse) maybe they want her back in her comfort zone.
my guess is that this is an olympic year so she will focus on just running, or maybe take a low key class somewhere else.
probably in the fall of 2016 she will go back to school.
it sounds like she couldn't handle the multiple demands on her time and that led to her poor season.
as for being at home...probably more of the same - just let her run and not worry about anything else.

She was at an XC race in the Bronx this weekend - seems for sure she is relocating to home.
Looks like she ran an XC race in the Bronx this past weekend - see
https://twitter.com/hashtag/HarryMurphyXC?src=hashfor a nice picture. Results should be up soon - wonder what her time was / where she finished.
I actually saw results from that Bronx race and didn't see her name. Perhaps it was not a serious race effort by her.

Doesn't seem weird to me that she realized he is an awful person and didn't want to be near him.

Not sure what results you were looking at [maybe the Bronx 5k road race from the weekend before?] but the results of the XC race she ran yesterday are now up:
Marks Kyle M25 311 CPTC New York NY USA 1 1 1 0:16:18 0:16:18 05:15 0:16:18 2 79.18 %
Rand Matt M24 379 GTRC Peaks Island ME USA 2 2 1 0:16:18 0:16:18 05:15 0:16:18 3 79.17 %

Berkow Stan M26 124 CPTC New York NY USA 4 4 3 0:16:53 0:16:53 05:26 0:16:53 8 76.43 %
Falk Phillip M31 201 CPTC New York NY USA 5 5 1 0:16:55 0:16:55 05:27 0:16:50 6 76.68 %

Cain Mary F19 148 NIKE Bronxville NY USA 10 1 1 0:17:11 0:17:11 05:32 0:17:07 1 86.52 %
Looks like a solid effort.
the course is between 60-90 seconds slower than a flat 5k, depending on how good you are on up/downhills
Is that photo caption right? She took it out in the lead?
She is such a hottie
Camo top, must not have wanted anyone noticing her.

Unclear from the photos - maybe someone on the board was at the race watching and can say for sure. [fwiw, that guy just behind her finished 12th.]
Was this Cain's first XC race since NXN 2012?
It's not crazy to think she went out at a bit fast and settled in. Though HS girls that aren't pro runners have ran faster on that course. Not all that amazing for a girl with a 15:40's 5k PR making 6 figures a year if she truly was racing this. Though most likely she did additional work afterwards.

According to twitter, her little sister also celebrated her 16th birthday last week so she just as easily could have gone home for a few days to celebrate.
We've contacted her management team and will post an update if we hear anything back from them.

Who the hell is going to fly across the country for a siblings birthday?
I read the posted results wrote:

Correct, but the question was whether she was leading the race overall in a photo taken about 300m in. She could have been, but the person immediately behind her in that photo ultimately finished 12th, which suggests the race leaders might have been ahead of them and out of the picture. [seems possible since the top 2 finished nearly a minute ahead of Cain.]
On the other hand, a runner behind Cain in that photo looks like it could be one of those top 2 finishers.
Which brings me back to - was anyone there and watching the race? [or running in it and close enough to the front to know.]
