I think California as they always have the most teams that are nationally ranked, and run fast despite racing all out every weekend of November. Always have great individuals too...any thoughts? Teams/individuals that you think stick out there for that specific state?

Who won the girls national championship for the last 9 years. Who won the boys national championship last year. Who had to fight off other teams from their state to win the championships?
Not anyone from California.
That's because California runners always are tired or injured by the time they race at NXN(or if they can even qualify out of their outrageously deep state meet) because they race weekend after weekend as hard as they can to qualify to the next week, whereas other teams in different states rests their runners and get in quality training.
Look at Delaware's top 5 in d1 and d2.... its crazy how deep they r man

Utah as they have powerhouses American Fork(McKay Johns and Casey Clinger), Davis(always up there at nxn), and Desert Hills. Desert Hills is ranked 3rd in the state and they weren't far behind Great Oak at Woodbridge, who is the top team in Cali. California is overrated, they are not as big as they seem
New jersey= Christian Brothers Academy.
All that needs to be said, they're the best, New Jersey produces the best.
As of right now if you convert illinois 3 mile times to 5k times and put them in a meet with every state as a team they win with 36 points.

I'd LOVE to see the Manlius girls race Mt. SAC ONCE (not to mention three times for some athletes) and see how their times measure up.
HSers from CA are at a pretty huge disadvantage in cross country, especially those from the Southern Section. They have to peak and race four weeks in a row; very few HSers from other states have to do that (NY does not.)

I seriously doubt FM girls would win the CIF Southern Section 9 years straight and week after week the boys races are brutal. So the best "state" is The Southern Section

It is Michigan this year due to over 100 runners breaking 15:40 before september
