Surprised no one picked up on her win at Saturday's world mountain running championships. She was a clear winner over a tough course

Cool.
She won the Jr title. Nice rebound from her injury during track.

"There was also a runaway winner in the junior women’s race in the form of USA’s Allie Ostrander. Despite her diminutive figure, the Alaskan youngster showed her rivals a clean pair of heels; she was 13 seconds clear of the rest of the field after 2km and just kept extending her lead throughout the one lap race to eventually win in 19:44.
"Czech Republic’s 2014 bronze medallist Michaela Stranska ran a strong race to move up one place on the podium and she finished second in 20:23."

Well not even you were talking about it.
My rule of thumb: whenever I want to talk about something on LRC I start a thread on LRC.

Great performance by Joe Gray on the Men's side, as well, with a 5th Place finish. Heck of a run.
Another Alaskan, Levi Thomet, took the silver in the boys junior race.
I recall a thread last year or so ago saying that the 4:06/1600, 8:54 3200 m Thomet wasn't "Power 5" conference material.

She ran a mount marathon a couple months ago.

Thomet was a lot faster than 8:54 3200 this year. He also ran 8:48.32 indoors in the 2 mile.
Lol, you might want to research that just a little bit

Why would I need to do that? Here is an interview after she ran it.

AK Marmoset is jesting you because it's not 'a mount marathon' it is the Mount Marathon, a 7 mile race with a 3000 ft ascent and descent. Good training grounds for things like IAAF mountain running championships.
"Despite her diminutive figure..."
lol. Because fat and huge people are known to be better distance runners than thin people. The media is silly. Should be "because of her diminutive figure!"

The IAAF generally have impressively knowledgeable people writing for them actually.
Ostrander is short and looks very young for her age too; the majority of the runners at the World Mountain Running Championships are going to have light frames, of course. I hope she can hold it together over the next few years.

Judging by her parents and older sister, she probably has more growing to do. Although, maybe hard running in high school can permanently stunt growth. Not sure if any studies have been conducted on this.

An Alaskan should know that Mount Marathon isn't 7 miles. It's about 3.2 miles round trip.
Wow! Aren't you cool?! Must be a true-true Alaskan. Can I kiss your feet?
And is it 3022 feet?
Does anyone have a link to the full results? Why does it have to be so hard to find this stuff?
