Could someone tell me the name of the 800 meter test where you run as far as you can in 1 minute, take a break and do it egain. Even better, does anyone know of a website that has the performance equivalency charts? Thanks/

The Kosmin test?
Here's an even better test: You run one lap of a 400 meter track at a controlled (but nearly all-out) pace, then with no rest, you run a second lap of the same track as fast as you can. Your total time for the two laps is an extremely good predictor of you 800 time.

The Kosmin test for 800 (there's a different one for 1500) can be found in "Better Training For Distance Runners," pp. 226-227.
You run all-out (this is important) for 1 minute, rest 3 minutes, then run all-out for one more minute, and you count the accumulated distance run. Your projected 800 meter time comes from this equation:
Time(800) = 217.4 - (0.119 * Distance)
where: Distance is the accumulated distance from both 1 minute runs. The result tends to be optimistic for runners slower than 2:00 and females.
