I am training for the 4/800 as a high school sophomore and I have always had problems with certain workouts, but am fine with others. For example, I have no problem with 10x200 at 29, 2 min rest, but stuff like 400-300-200-400-300-200 with 6-8 min rest in between totally kill me. After the second 400, I couldn't even stand up or walk around because when I move I feel a wave of dizziness and nausea. My times were 61, 41, 29, 64, 50, 29. The kids who are much slower than me and who show up to train once or twice a week have no problem recovering. Another workout that I have trouble with is 350m repeats up a slight incline. We do one, then very slow jog back to start, then repeat in 3 sets of two. In the second set I couldn't even jog back, I had to walk and in the third set I had to sit because i couldn't even move. I got 56, 63, 62, 70, 64, 58.
I have tried to figure out what is wrong with me for a while and no one can help. My coach just thinks I'm weak (which I hope isn't true.) I drink 80 oz of water each day and eat normally and not right before I run. I have no breathing problems. Does anyone else have something like this or can offer any advice, I just want to train hard.
