i hope a darkhorse from another semi heat wins it, assuming bishop is wiped out now. sum probably still will win, but running 1:57mid ain't a walk in the park for her

it's like the first sub 4. Dibaba showed that a woman can run that fast to finish a 1500 and suddenly all the women can run faster.
Amazing result! This isn't a supprise to me though. She's been winning national races in 1:59 on slower tracks and against less competitive fields.
I watched her improve through the 800m rounds at Commonwealth Games in Glasgow last year. A nice smooth looking runner.

I.e., she's white
She is for real indeed and has been consistent enough that a big pb was due, but I just don't know of she has another big one in her right now.
One doesn't often match a break through race with another within two days.
