Per USATF Entertainment's Adam Schmenk, Prandini announced she is going pro after her 200 prelim at Worlds tonight. Video below (she does not mention going pro in the video).
She was wearing Puma spikes in the race so it seems that may be her sponsor.
Word round the track in Beijing is she signed for $400K. Nike only offered $250
Nike is horrible, just another sign that they don't support athletes.
Now she can move back to Cali and get a degree from a real university instead of a JC.
Awesome.
Total babe, hugely marketable.
First clean sprinter in Pumas!
Great news. I am not anti-Nike like many others on this board, but I like to see college athletes mixing it up and signing with different companies. Now if only Puma could make some decent distance spikes...
Does Puma provide Bolt Juice to its other sprinters?
Excellent news! All the best to Ms. Prandini in the semis.
Does Puma sponsor any American athletes?
Not true on her offers from the shoe companies.
She will barely crack $100k.
Not a great choice, no support group for her to train with as she had at Oregon.
Who was the happiest person in the birds Nest last night? Pat Henry knowing that is a bunch of points UO will lose by her turning pro

400k for how many years? Please tell me not per year.
She just bombed out in the semis and messed up my prediciton contest. I had her getting bronze.
$2M total until 2020 Olympics.
$400k/yr base + performance incentives.
The market is very high for the next great American sprinter.
Who is Johnathan Gault?
We just caught up with Prandini after she failed to advance to the women's 200 final. She has confirmed she has gone pro with Puma.

Nice timing by Jenna - signing before bombing out of the final. I would say that even if it's $400k for 4 years that's a lot more than she could earn with a degree from Clown College.

Just out of curiosity, where did you get your degree from?

But, she's far from a sure bet to be the next great American sprinter. That said, I guess she's as good a candidate as anyone else at this point, though the SF flame out doesn't help. And, don't forget "marketability" (i.e., she's good looking enough to market her looks).
