The only way Gatlin was going to win was to gap Bolt out of the blocks. He did not do that. He saw Bolt go by, he started straining, but he had already lost.
BTW: He does have an Olympic Gold already, so I would not call him a choker.
My wife, by default, watches track. In Athens 2004, my wife called him "an ugly American" due to his unsportsmanlike conduct (strutting around, bumping chests, being a loudmouth, etc). He has been nothing but an arrogant jerk ever since. His excuse for doping is ridiculous. I am glad he lost. But I don't think he really choked. Bolt was just better, even if by only .01.
