Bolt won't make the final

Here's the list:

Those semis are nuts. Bolt v. Bromell v. De Grasse in the 1st semi. Incredible that one of those guys won't automatically qualify. I think we could see 3 sub-9.9s in a semi!

Gay v. Powell v. Vicaut in the 3rd. Powell will pull up, but go through as a fastest loser.

The 2nd semi is pretty open for the 2nd spot. Rodgers v. Ogunode v. Ashmeade. I'll call Rodgers.

The final will be Bolt, Powell, all 4 Americans, De Grasse, and Vicaut.

Bolt had a subpar start. But after 45m, he did strides all the way.

I'm not sure if he's in sub 9.7 shape. In the semis he is going to need a sub 9.87 for the "Q" because Bromell and De Grasse have great top-end speed and he can't relax so much like he did against Mike Rodgers. Sub 9.77 for him in the final is out of the question for me.

But damn, Gatlin has a shot for 9.6x (although he had the wind over the limit in his heat)

Barring surprises, this seems like a good prediction.

Lets see how much Bolt can peak with good technique (0.1 or 0.2?) and Gay to improve by half a tenth? Powell could easily drop half a tenth..

This does not sound as far fetched as it sounds.
