Or Mackey focused too much on speed in the final few weeks of training and lost his endurance de, you'd think off a slow pace that 20.9 200m would come in handy, but time and time again we see people focusing too much on under distance workouts and they loose their specific endurance!

Yeah. Blame it on the coaching. He's just not that good. Sorry to break it you with him being one of the letsrun GW hopes and everything.
He is definitely talented, but he blew his load at USA's (because he had too!). Murphy had some serious momentum heading into Worlds and I'm not really surprised by this.
I don't think coaching has or had anything to do with it. I think Mackey is a solid coach. Loxsom making the team in the first place was a testament to his coaching ability imo.

Poor tactics. Loxsom got tripped a bunch and beat up.
